This is In-Sook An, director of the Korea Institute of Dermatological Science.

We derive accurate and credible results on the basis of our internationally top-level technical capabilities in compliance with strict ethical norms and take the lead in bringing "globalization" to the cosmetic industry. Notably, our continued academic and industrial exchanges with China contribute to the symbiotic growth of the Korean-Chinese cosmetic industries. Starting off with the conclusion of MOU with the China Cosmetics Research Center in the Beijing Technology and Business University in 2014, we hold a joint forum on the Korea-China cosmetic industry on an annual basis. In 2016, we jointly produced the Asian Journal of Beauty and Cosmetology (AJBC) in concert with BioMed Central, a UK-based scientific publisher specializing in academic journals and databases, aiming for SCOPUS registration. We stepped up our efforts further to launch the Biomedical Dermatology (BD) in January 2017 with the aim of SCI registration.

Our active academic activities, forums, and lectures, helped us to become officially appointed as the professional organization for the 1st CPCCIA Asia's affiliated organizations and be awarded for our partnership contribution for the 1st anniversary of the Korea-China free trade agreement (Minister's Award of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea) with more to come.
In this spirit, we aim to make contributions to building a healthy society through various kinds of public interest projects while prioritizing the goal of improving human health and quality of life.
