Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

These are the list of FAQs from the applicants for the hygiene licensing service. Please read this before submitting any inquiries!

Q
We plan to draw up an authorization letter with the incorporated company in China. We're concerned if your institution may have the exclusive rights on our sales right other than the hygiene license compliance deal.

As long as you specify that our authority is set only at the application for administrative hygiene licensing on the letter of authorization, it won't allow us to engage in your sales activities, hence no worries
Q
We authorized company A as the China-based incorporated company to undertake the hygiene licensing process. This time, we plan to change company A to company B as incorporated company in China for internal reasons. Does status change registration cost?

There is no additional fee for the CFDA for standard change applications (e.g., product name, producer's name, address, change of the incorporated company in China, etc.). It's just that these changes are often delegated to the compliance service companies, which charge for the service.
Q
Applying for the hygiene licensing procedure costs an examination fee and service fee, and we believe the examination fee should be fixed as it is undertaken by the state-run institution. Isn't it possible for the compliance service companies to overstate the case?

Examination fees are specified by item according to the examination institution. You can contact your examination institution for specific examination fees.
Q
How many samples should be submitted for a hygiene licensing process?

Generally, about 30 samples are needed based on the 30-ml cosmetic product for non-special purpose. Note that the products in the liquid form such as toner, mist and oil, thus may require more sample submission because they are easily lost. In the meantime, about 40 samples are needed based on the 30-ml cosmetic product for special purpose.
Q
Our sample design needs to be modified. Can we attach a sticker to it for the hygiene license procedure?

Overlapping a sticker on the existing label from your base in Korea is one of the ways to correct an error in the product. In case of hygiene licensing procedures in China, however, overlapped labels are highly likely to cause a problem as it may appear as a false report or misunderstanding in operation. It is strongly advised to avoid overlapping stickers for the hygiene licensing procedures. Therefore, you need to correct the existing design and redo the sample production in case of any packaging error.
